We provided sound system design design services to Acton Ostry Architects for the new UBC Aquatic Centre. The very short 1.5 second unoccupied reverberation time allowed for a sound system that could provide both excellent fidelity and speech intelligibility. The suspended ceiling system provided excellent absorption and a convenient location for high quality ceiling speakers.

The sound system features several independent sound system zones in the natatorium, and a paging system for the changerooms and circulation areas. Multiple input locations and a pair of wireless microphones provide a variety of options for event commentators and for coaching.
